Node.js·Fastify·Postman·Proxyman

ship real api surface for a live loyalty app in a one-month window, no ramp-up time to spare.

01

starting point

a one-month sprint into a live codebase

i joined elevatoz loyalty as a software development intern for a single month, working directly against a live, already-shipping loyalty app. there was no slow ramp-up: the mobile client needed real endpoints and the team needed someone who could pick up the existing fastify service layer fast enough to ship inside the internship, not after it.

02

shipping

api modules, fastify-first

i built api modules for the app's mobile client on node.js and fastify, working closely with the mobile engineers actually consuming them so the request and response shapes matched what the client needed instead of what was easiest to write on the backend.

03

feature

one component, less scrolling

one of the modules fed a new summarized user reviews component on the app's product pages. instead of a raw list a user had to scroll through, the api pre-aggregated review data into a compact summary the client could render directly, cutting the work the mobile side had to do per screen.

04

verification

checked before it merged

before anything went up for review, i diffed request and response payloads with proxyman and postman, comparing new endpoint behavior against the existing one to catch regressions before a reviewer had to. that habit carried into release support: i helped push two release cycles through github, from pull request to merge to release tag.
